Over 1000 miles cycled in a month!

photo-1-miles-cycledLEAP’s ‘Cycle for Summer’ in August was planned to raise awareness of cycling and to get a snapshot of just how many miles local people cycle in a month. Judging from the 1328 miles that 12 residents and families clocked up – it’s a mighty fair distance and more than a single cycle from John O’Groats to Lands End! Whether it’s to commute between home and work, for health and fitness, as a hobby or simply for enjoyment, cycling offers a clean and healthy way to travel. ‘I like to cycle at least 35 kilometres a week and I get the chance to visit some interesting landmarks too.’ ‘I’ve been cycling from Lochwinnoch to Paisley to work and back every day for the last 3 weeks – it was around a 35 minute cycle each way and I’ve really enjoyed the experience.’ Thanks to everyone who took part and ‘Keep on Cycling’!
