Lochwinnoch PrimaryRecycling Heroes

Children in three Renfrewshire villages got the chance to be “Recycling Heroes”. LEAP funded a day of drama workshops in Lochwinnoch and Howwood Primary Schools and Kilbarchan Community Nursery, in the first week of October 2012. The children, led by the “fearless Bag Girl”, found out how to “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle” as a way of protecting our world and reducing our carbon footprint.

Mairi McLean, Manager at Kilbarchan Community Nursery, commented “The children had a great time learning about the importance of taking care of their environment, while having fun becoming recycling super heroes!”

The workshops were written and delivered by Eco Drama, a Glasgow based organisation. Click Here to visit www.ecodrama.co.uk

As part of the event, LEAP ran a competition for the best decoration of their eco-themed sheet and for the most innovative ideas for ways that their class could Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. The prizes were torches that could not only be charged by winding up, but could also be solar powered.
