In Spring 2014, LEAP ran a competition across Renfrewshire in partnership with the Climate Challenge Fund, Young Scot and Active Renfrewshire for young people aged between 11 and 26 years of age. The competition was developed to engage this group in the broader work of LEAP and to generate discussions around ‘climate challenge’ – a subject area often weighed down with too much doom and gloom for many young people. Working to one of the suggested themes of, ”Save The Planet”, “Save Energy” or “Meet the Climate Challenge”, all entrants were asked to create a film clip of between 6 and 60 seconds using, a mobile, a flip cam or a video camera. 13 short clips were submitted and included the work of 22 young people whose creations were promoted though Youtube, myleapproject.org and the Young Scot Rewards website.
