LEAP Youth Education Programme
From August through to March 2016 we are offering a series projects for young people to take part in. Here are the kind of workshops that take place.
Recycle or Dye! – A Clothing Re-design and Upcycling Project, work with designer Niki Taylor of The Top Project to redesign, upcycle and make new garments from old. Whether building a portfolio or simply inspired to design and make clothes – come along and learn skills in design and construction.
Project Crosscut – A Woodwork and Carving Project using specialist carving tools to develop green woodworking skills and a knowledge of sustainable sources to make boxes, spoons and other stuff. Working towards more ambitious projects like skateboard or boat building.
Loops and Cycles – A Cycling and Animation pilot project combining cycle journeys, animation and filmmaking. Working towards a screening event at Create Paisley’s Wee Red Dot Youth Film Festival in November and bike building workshops early Spring 2015.
Cafe Forage – Four workshops in foraging involving scheduled rambles to collect and understand what can and can’t be collected for eating. Dates T.B.C. Please contact LEAP for details.
