Lift Sharing - save money, meet new local people, save fuel...!

Did you know… Most cars travel with an average of only 1.58 passengers per car dropping to under 1.2 per vehicle for travelling to work. In other words, only an estimated 25% of emissions from cars are caused by people actually travelling, the rest are created to move empty seats from one place to another.

Did you know…The average person car sharing to work each day saves around £800 per year!

Sharing a lift can make sense for you and the environment.

Lift Sharing, also called Car Sharing is when 2 or more people travel to and from the same destination, usually to work. There can be perks associated with sharing. Some employers provide parking spaces for those who car share, and there are spaces at some SPT ‘Park and Ride’ car parks for those who have officially signed up to Lift Share through the SPT Journeyshare scheme. If you’re interested in sharing a lift to and from your work, then the SPT JourneyShare platform is a great place to start. You can input your details and be matched with other potential lift sharers. Even if you don’t have a car, you can still sign up and make a contribution to your sharing buddy’s fuel costs.
