About the event
Lochwinnoch Community Larder is delighted to offer more free cooking classes. This time, we're working with Chef Carly Jacobs to offer a range of sessions throughout February and March. These classes can be booked individually, but you can book as many as you like. They will cover the following:
Lesson One - Budget Friendly Basics
This session will introduce foundational skills and cost effective cooking methods. We will be learning to make vegetable stirfry, with rice, and with the option to add meat or fish.
Lesson Two - One Pot Family Meals
The aim is to simplify cooking with minimal equipment and cleaning. You will be able to make supergreen mac & cheese. An easy way to get a big whack of greens in to a family favourite.
Lesson Three - Leftovers
In this session you will transform leftover ingredients in to new meals to prevent waste. This will include making soup and chicken fried rice.
Lesson Four - Fakeaway
We will be showing you how to make takeaway favourites which can be made at home. This will include Indian curry or Sweet and Sour chicken.
Lesson Five - Batch Cooking
How one recipe can be made in to multiple meals - cook it once, eat it three times! Starting with beef or veggie chilli con carne: stuffed inside a sweet potato, loaded on to nachos, burrito bowl etc.
About Carly:
A passionate Chef with experience in celebrated food spaces like Ottolenghi and Deliciously Ella, Carly specialises in cooking with bold, seasonal flavours with a focus on vegetables. Her work spans private dining, recipe creation and teaching, where she loves sharing knowledge of nutritionally beneficial food and waste-conscious cooking to inspire confidence in the kitchen.
