Our Carclub Coordinator and talented film-maker Mike has produced a series of short 5 minute films giving an idea of the work we do and benefit to our community, here’s the first, our LEAP Energy video.
We’ve launched two new LEAP Services following your feedback from our recent extensive community consultation, for more practical help to make your home more comfortable and energy efficient:
Had a free Home Energy Check, Thermal Image or Draught Test and wondering where to start? Short on time or DIY skills? We’ve employed the services of two reputable local tradesmen with experience of draught proofing, energy saving and all those minor repair jobs around the house. Really no job is too small. Depending on your circumstances we may be able to provide this service for FREE. Please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org, or Tel: 01505 612 034.
LEAP Eco Shop
If you’re a DIY enthusiast and ready to get going please do shop local and drop in to your local LEAP shop to pick up any essential supplies such as draughtproofing strips, caulk, chimney balloons, letterbox draught excluders, etc. We stock a wide range but if anything you need is unavailable we’ll order it in for you. All proceeds from the LEAP shop go back into providing more free local services for local people. Please also see our helpful ‘how to’ videos and tips: LEAP DIY Draughtproofing
If we can be of any further assistance please do let us know, and we’d love to hear how you’ve got on!
At LEAP’s Celebratory Opening Event for LEAP’s Drop in Centre in Bridge of Weir, Jim Sheridan MP officially opened LEAP’s new Bridge of Weir Drop in Centre, cutting the HUGE Recycled Ribbon.
The event was well attended with lots of local residents enjoying the Thermal Image camera in action, competitions and give-aways.
LEAP’s twin aims are helping local residents save energy and money. We do this through providing free, impartial advice on insulation, draught proofing, heating, renewable energy generation, grants and subsidies. We also support a network of local volunteers working to make our villages more sustainable and are involved in education, promoting local foods and transport. Our Car Club is also expanding into Bridge of Weir, with a car sited in the Livery Walk car park. One of the first new member for Bridge of Weir, Jane Findlay signed up at the opening event.
