As a charity, LEAP’s success over the past 8 years has been supported by a number of grants. Looking to the future, the organisation is seeking to develop a more diverse, sustainable strategy, funded by both grants and income generating activities. We are particularly keen to hear from individuals with experience and knowledge in finance and accounting, HR, governance and/or business strategy, but we welcome applications from anyone committed to the aims of LEAP.
LEAP has established a reputation for achieving major savings in carbon emissions in the communities across Renfrewshire, through a range of environmental and social related activities, delivered by a committed and professional team and we want to develop this work in the future.
Our charitable objects are:
- To advance environmental protection and improvement by promoting, empowering and enabling sustainable communities through energy conservation and efficiency, encouragement of the use of natural resources and the reduction of carbon use, pollution and waste.
- To advance education by raising awareness and encouraging communities to consider their impact on the environment.
- To encourage community participation in contributing to environmental improvement and ensure the services offered meet the needs of the community, and help to provide new skills and perspectives.
The LEAP board meets between 8 to 12 times per annum, usually in the evening in Bridge of Weir or Lochwinnoch. Although trustees are not paid, reasonable expenses are covered; more importantly this is a great opportunity to provide support and guidance in an area that needs committed individuals.
LEAP is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation no. SC044019.
