About the event
People of all ages are invited to explore the wonders of 'The Earth Beneath Our Feet' with local artists from the 'Art and Earth Collective'. This captivating art trail takes you on an informative journey around Lochwinnoch, offering an opportunity to appreciate art, learn about soil health, biodiversity, and how we can help to combat the threat of climate breakdown.
Pick up a map to find the exact locations of the art installations thoughtfully placed across various venues. Each piece represents a different element of the 'soil food web,' allowing visitors to discover fascinating connections within our underground ecosystems.
From falling leaves to earthworms, and intriguing collages crafted with the help of slugs and snails, each installation serves as an artistic window into the hidden world beneath our feet. Accompanying these captivating artworks are verses from an inspiring poem that further weave together the narrative of soil health and its significance in sustaining life.
Visit all locations on the trail to complete the missing words on the poem in your trail map. Once you've ticked off all venues and completed the trail, you'll have the chance to pick up a small reward from Lochwinnoch Library. The first 30 completions will also receive a small original artwork!
This event is taking place throughout the festival and maps can be picked up at venues around the village, including The Work Place at 39 High Street and Lochwinnoch Library. Additional venues TBC
