We smashed out target with April's Earth Raise Fundraiser!

We set our selves an ambitious target for April's Earth Raise Fundraiser which reached to raise £10k for our Community Larder project. We knew it would be a stretch, but it was a great opportunity to see that money doubled by The Big Give. We were bowled over by all the participation from people across the community and from our Corporate sponsors. Here is a look at what happened, and how we smashed our target and ended up on over £24k total!!

So many people from around the village took part in sponsored events including the Larder Legends - a group of individuals who collaboratively set themselves the task of reaching 1 million steps across the week. Between them they raised significant sponsorship with Angela O'Neil raising over £400 alone. Likewise, our volunteers Mary and Wilma set up a fun day in the park offering jewellery making and hula hooping sessions - this also raised over £400. Many other people took part and made donations - we're so grateful for that and also to The Big Give who doubled the first £10k through their match-funded campaign.

Our Corporate Sponsors really helped to get us to our target too. They included DJD Services, Monster Media, Thamma Thai Wellness, Linthills Ltd, Moran Wealth Management, the Wee Therapy Room, Colette’s Cairn and La Dolce Vita. We’re grateful to everyone and not least The Reo Stakis Charitable Foundation as their large donation was what got us to our target. Andros Stakis said, ”The Sir Reo Stakis Charitable Foundation is delighted to support Lochwinnoch Larder and help it to extend its operations further afield.”
