Sponsorship Programme - Lochwinnoch Community Larder

If your company is looking for a charitable sponsorship opportunity, here is why we would love you to consider Lochwinnoch Community Larder:

  • We’re one of the busiest community food projects in Scotland with around 300 visits per week, and a membership taking in more than 2000 individuals

  • We’re a registered charity tackling food insecurity through preventative, dignified, food distribution

  • We deliver more than 7000 meals via food parcels each year, supporting the most vulnerable households across rural Renfrewshire and North Ayrshire

  • Our free membership entitles people to access our Community Fridge 24/7 on an honesty basis, as well as our Pantry which is open 4 days per week

  • We offer free community cooking classes and meals, as well as fermenting workshops for anyone looking to meet new people and learn how to prepare healthy food from scratch

  • We offer a range of volunteering opportunities, including positions for young people on Duke of Edinburgh programmes

  • Our NET carbon savings each year from keeping good food out of landfill is more than 110 tonnes CO2 - that's about the same as 24 average petrol cars annually, or the footprint of 30 average homes

  • We run events on a weekly basis supporting local families with healthy, free food; this includes our P7 snack bar every Friday specifically for the Primary School children, and our Family Book Swap event every Tuesday after school, in partnership with Kibble Forrest school.

There is so much more that the Larder does including creating local employment, but more than anything the Larder is an inclusive and welcoming space for anyone experiencing social isolation in this rural area. It’s a destination locally where many people experience regular human contact. There is something powerful happening in this space where we’re engaging people across social boundaries.

Did you know?:

  • 20% of our Members come from North Ayrshire.

  • 17% of our Members come from Renfrewshire areas beyond Lochwinnoch, including Johnstone and Paisley

  • And 35% of our Members are pensioners

  • 24% of our Members are children

The current funding landscape has put pressure on us to find innovative ways to meet the running costs of our work; The lack of funding across the country is putting vital services like ours under threat in many locations. We are therefore looking for new ways to fundraise and generate income and this includes the development of a charity shop which we will open later in 2026 - this is more of a longterm answer however. For a more immediate solution we are developing this Corporate Sponsorship programme. Additionally, we will soon find out whether we have been accepted to the Big Give Earth Raise campaign in April, which would mean every donation you make could be doubled. We'll update about this as soon as we know.

Of course we would be delighted with any level of sponsorship and could tailor a package to suit amounts over £1000, but here is a guide to what rewards we could offer as a scale for the following:

£1000 and over (potentially becomes £2000+ with match funding):
