Diggin' It Seed Libraries - 2026

Our Diggin' It Project was one of the first LEAP Together activities which began as a grassroots initiative during covid. Originally set up to support people to grow their own food from their own homes, Diggin' It has supported many growers of varied experience levels over the years with supply of seed, growing material and guidance.

Our established Seed Library has been popular, but we are aware that it's location in our office means it's difficult for working people to access as we aren't open at weekends, therefore, we plan to split it over a new location at Lochwinnoch Library a few doors down the High Street. Well update on our socials as soon as have set it up.

For those of you who live outside Lochwinnoch, it may be good news that we will now also have two new locations in partnership with both OneRen's Johnstone Library and North Ayrshire Council's Beith Library where we're supplementing stock in their existing initiative. We're excited to be actively supporting these communities and covering a much wider area.

The majority of our seeds are open-pollinated types which are perfect for seed saving, produced in the UK. We really want to work with people who are up for giving seed saving a go and help us cultivate veggies which are optimum for our local climate over time. We will be launching the two Renfrewshire seed libraries 28th February and restocking each one seasonally; this year we have lots of different varieties and choice! Many thanks to our partners at both North Ayrshire Council and OneRen for their support with this project.
