Feel Good Fortnight and the March Miles Challengers

As we emerge from winter hibernation, we are thrilled to announce the return of our popular Lochwinnoch Feel Good Festival in 2024.  This year, we will be kicking off our exciting schedule with the Feel Good Fortnight, taking place between 10th and 26th May, which just happens to overlap with the end of the Lochwinnoch Arts Festival. We think it’s fair to say we’ve earned our Festival Village recognition. Access to art and music play a huge part in feeling good, so we think it is only fitting to have our events next to each other on the calendar.

The aim of the Feel Good Festival is to make both physical and mental health a priority, and provide a range of activities that address these issues.  We truly believe this is vital in maintaining health and wellbeing, in the face of the challenges we all encounter today. We understand there can be a financial barrier which can prevent access to these activities and it is our mission to remove as many as possible, so we can all benefit from the treatments and workshops in our programme.

As always, the Feel Good Fortnight will feature daily classes and workshops.  One of our highlights is our Feel Good Fair on Saturday 18th May, where we will have our wellbeing market, tea room, free children’s activities, street food, and our famous come and try treatment area and workshops.  Here some of our amazing therapists will be offering taster sessions in massage, reiki, reflexology and more.  Anyone who has been before will vouch for how wonderful this has been in the past, and we look forward to seeing repeat guests, as well as welcoming new visitors.

In addition, we are so happy to announce our Villages programme of events.  For the first time we are taking some of our activities outwith Lochwinnoch to our neighbouring Renfrewshire Villages.  This is such an exciting addition to our schedule of events, and we hope to reach many more people who will benefit from our activities this way. We are fortunate to be able to offer this with thanks to the Renfrewshire Council Villages Investment Fund, and we really hope you will enjoy the programme of activities we have been able to offer as a result. All are welcome to come and enjoy these activities many of which are free or subsidised.

Of course, we couldn’t bring such a large, diverse programme of events without the fantastic support of our local businesses.  They have made such a huge impact in the past and our gratitude to them is immeasurable.  We really hope to keep offering bigger and better events, and encourage any business who believes in our mission to make a positive impact in our communities, to look in to our sponsorship opportunities click here or contact jacqui@myleapproject.org with any queries.

Alas, we really have to give a massive shout out to our ‘foot soldiers’.  The members of our community who have undertaken our March Miles Challenge. From the children of Lochwinnoch Primary, to the buoyant wild swimmers, and the Lochwinnoch Hearties Keet Fit Club, we have so many wonderful and slightly crazy members of the community, joining forces to help with our fundraising.  Together they are circuiting, swimming and squatting there way through March to fundraise for our festival. We also have a number of fundraisers with a….competitive streak. 11 teams of walkers are battling over hill and field, through mud, rain and the occasional sunny spell, to cover the most miles by midnight on 31st March. As the last day approaches, the tension is rising and the feet are aching. They are doing an amazing job, and we really hope the funds they raise match the effort they have put in. You can sponsor them here www.gofundme/marchinmarch and know every penny raised will go in to making health and wellbeing inclusive for all.

Here is a look at this year's line-up of events so far: Feel Good Fortnight!

Here are some images of our March Miles Challengers! Thanks to them and all the donors for helping us to make this project possible, and deliver these events.
