March Miles Challenge!

Updated: Feb 20

Get fit while raising money for your community.....

This March, you can take part in a village-wide fundraiser to help support Lochwinnoch Feel Good Festival. Similarly to the Lochwinnoch Olympics of 2020, this event can be entered by individuals or teams of up to five people. You clock up miles however you choose and we'll add them to a daily leaderboard. Cycling events will be recorded as a separate category but all others can go together including running, walking, rowing, cartwheeling, skateboarding. wheeling, or whatever you want to do. You can collect passive steps too - whatever your device records as your daily mileage, you can bank it as miles covered - it all counts! In fact, you can make up your own unique challenge if you prefer. Money raised will go towards helping us fund events that can then be offered free, giving access to better wellbeing without financial barriers - for all.

The aims of the festival are to connect people to each other through opportunities for social inclusion, but also to help people connect with organisations and activities which will support their wellbeing. It's about bringing people together in meaningful activity, and shining a light on the subject of mental health; Let's bring it out of the shadows and remove the stigma!

This year's Feel Good Festival kicks with a two week programme 10th - 26th May, offering nature based activities, recreational events, creative workshops, and a Wellbeing Fair 18th May with free taster treatments of massage and other therapies. We will also host 14 days of free yoga, movement and breathing classes as seen last September.

We also plan to host another day in the Park on 24th August - the Feel Good Gathering. As with last year's Feel Good Family Day, it will be a free day of entertainment, stalls, food, drink, workshops and fun, bringing the community together.

We will also host classes year-round and hop to host workshops on the run up to Halloween which would support an intergenerational Halloween event this year.

Taking part in our fundraiser is also a great way to show potential funders how much support the project has locally - that the community are behind it. If you would like to get involved, we would love to hear from you!
